Sisterhood: True Blue

Herstory

On April 17, 1984, Alpha Sigma Theta was founded by fourteen sisters, however it wasn't officially recognized as a sorority until January 20, 1987. Ever since, we have had 347 sisters join Alpha Sigma Theta. Right now we have three chapters: the Alpha chapter is located at Rochester Institute of Technology which was the first chapter established. The Beta chapter is located at Gallaudet University. The Gamma chapter is located at California State University at Northridge. Our sorority was founded by deaf women but we have grown to be a diverse sorority with deaf, hard-of-hearing and hearing sisters.
